The making of / Behind the scenes

While developing Mosquita y Mari a powerful collaboration formed between the film and the community of Huntington Park, CA. At the head of the collaboration was a non-profit based out of H.P. called Communities for a Better Environment. Together, it was decided that while providing Aurora a window into their lives and community she would have to create a viable bridge of knowledge between the artistic team and local Latino youth interested in media making. As a result, a beautiful and honest film was birthed and many of Mosquita y Mari's youth collaborators went on to film school (NYU & UCLA).  A truley inspiring way of making film was established for director Aurora Guerrero. Her follow up feature, Los Valientes, continues to explore the relationship between art and community.
