AURORA GUERRERO BIO:
Aurora Guerrero is an independent writer/director who's narrative work often examines the intersection of the working class, queer, and of color. Guerrero directed two narrative shorts, "Pura Lungua" and "Viernes Girl", while a member of the film collective Womyn Image Makers.  Both films caught the attention of film institutions such as Sundance, Tribeca, and Film Independent. As a fellow to these institutions a crucial foundation was forged for the making of Guerrero's first feature, "Mosquita y Mari".

Guerrero premiered her debut feature film, “Mosquita y Mari,” at the 2012 Sundance Film Festival. “Mosquita y Mari” has since traveled over 100 film festivals including San Francisco International, Melbourne, Guadalajara, Sao Paulo, and has garnered multiple awards including Best First Feature at Outfest and Best U.S. Latino FIlm at NY's Cinema Tropical while picking up Spirit Award and GLAAD nominations for Best First Feature Under 500k and the Piaget's Producer's Award. “Mosquita y Mari” was theatrically released in New York City where the New York Times praised: “An unassuming indie jewel...” Guerrero was also named a Time Warner/Sundance Storytelling Fellow in 2012. While on the festival circuit with "Mosquita y Mari," Guerrero received a SFFS/KRF screenwriting grant to begin developing her second feature "Los Valientes".

“Los Valientes,” slated to be Guerrero's second feature, has been awarded two grants by SFF/KRF, a 2014 Sundance Feature Film Development Grant and a 2013 Tribeca Narrative Grant, and was selected to participate in IFP's No Borders Market in 2014.
